The roadside fix is the first half of the job
A roadside call has one goal: get a stopped unit moving safely. The technician fits what gets the truck or trailer back on the road, and the driver carries on. That is the right priority in the moment, and it also means the job is not quite finished.
The tire that went on at the roadside was chosen from what was on the service truck. It may not match the rest of the axle in tread depth, brand or pattern. On a dual position, the tire beside the failed one carried the whole load for however long it took to stop. Nobody has yet had the time to ask why the tire failed in the first place.
Treat every roadside call as two visits: the call itself, and a follow-up at the store within the next few days.
What the follow-up visit covers
- The replacement tire. Whether it suits the position long term, or should be swapped for a match.
- The neighbor. The partner on a dual, checked for heat damage and pressure loss.
- The wheel. A tire that failed at speed can leave its mark on the rim.
- The cause. Pressure, a dragging brake, a bearing, a road hazard or a worn casing. The answer decides whether the next call happens.
Washington is open Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, so a unit recovered overnight can come in before or after its next run. Tire and wheel balancing and wheel refurbishing are both at this address.
Setting it up in advance
Authorization and billing are settled once on a fleet account, so a night call does not wait on a phone tree. The national roadside assistance page lists what any call needs.
