Distribution

Purcell Distribution Services

Five Purcell locations hold tire stock rather than fitting it: distribution centers in Wasilla, Phoenix, Denver and Salt Lake City, and the central distribution and fleet support center in Mineral Point, Missouri. Each carries all nine Purcell tire categories. None of them services vehicles.

What these locations are

Every tire fitted at a Purcell store was held somewhere first. These five locations are where that stock sits: full coverage across all nine categories, from passenger tires through to OTR tires for haul trucks.

They matter to a customer for one practical reason. Availability is what decides whether a machine runs this week or next, and a size held in your state is a different proposition from a size that has to come across the country. Four of Purcell's 14 states have a distribution location inside them, and the fifth, Missouri, holds the central one.

No service work happens at these addresses. No tires are fitted, no vehicles are repaired, no retreading is done. If you need work performed, the locations directory will find the service store nearest you.

The five locations

Where Purcell holds stock

What each location holds

All nine Purcell tire categories, at every one of the five:

Holding all nine in one place is what lets a single Purcell store handle a haul truck tire, a combine tire and a passenger tire in the same week without any of them being a special order.

What to have ready when you call

  • The tire size exactly as it reads on the sidewall.
  • The quantity, and when you need it.
  • The machine or vehicle it is going on, which often catches a size that will not fit before anything moves.
  • Whether the tires need fitting, in which case the call belongs with a service store instead.

How this fits with the rest of Purcell

Distribution is one of five paths through the company. The others are commercial and fleet, agricultural, mining and industrial and consumer service, delivered from the 52 locations that fit tires and service vehicles.

Retreading sits apart again. Seven plants retread casings collected by the stores, in Phoenix, Denver, Boise, Potosi, Cleveland, Portland and Salt Lake City. A retread plant is not a distribution location: it works on casings and sells no tires. See retreading.

Questions

Distribution questions

Can I buy tires directly from a distribution location?

Call and ask. These locations hold stock and perform no service work, so anything that needs fitting goes to a service store. The five phone numbers are listed above.

Which tires are held at a distribution location?

All nine Purcell tire categories at each of the five: agricultural, commercial, industrial, light truck, OTR, passenger, tracks, trailer, and UTV and ATV.

How is a distribution location different from a retread plant?

A distribution location holds new tire stock. A retread plant retreads and repairs casings and sells no tires. Purcell has five of the first and seven of the second.

Two listings share an address in Wasilla and Salt Lake City. Which do I call?

In Wasilla, the commercial store does the service work and distribution holds stock, both on (907) 376-4755. In Salt Lake City, the Truck Tire Center on (801) 907-9477 does the service work and distribution on (801) 797-0960 holds stock.

Where is the central distribution center?

Mineral Point, Missouri, at 10505 Industrial Park Dr. It is the only central distribution and fleet support center in the company.
