Cars and light trucks

Car, SUV and Light Truck Tires and Repair

Purcell Tire & Service works on cars, SUVs and light trucks at 33 locations across 10 states, with tires, brakes, alignment, oil changes, A/C and engine work under one roof. The same company that keeps commercial fleets running keeps family vehicles running, and the standards do not change between the two.

What you can get done

Which Purcell store to use

Purcell's locations are set up differently, and the difference matters when you are deciding where to drive.

Commercial and consumer stores, 32 of them, do both kinds of work. Most of the consumer service above happens at these.

Consumer stores, two of them, do car and light truck work only: Idaho Falls, ID and Paducah, KY.

Commercial stores, 17 of them, are built for trucks and fleets. Several offer car and light truck alignment and tire balancing without doing brakes, oil changes or engine work.

Retread plants and distribution locations, 12 in total, do no vehicle service at all.

Every location page lists exactly what that store does. Checking it before you set off is two minutes well spent.

Coverage

Where Purcell does consumer repair

Thirty-three locations in ten states handle the full car and light truck service list.

Alaska, New Mexico, North Carolina and Oregon are served by commercial locations and retread plants. In Alaska, the commercial stores in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Wasilla offer car and light truck alignment and tire balancing without general repair work.

What a visit looks like

Call the store first. Hours differ between locations, the work you need may or may not be on that store's list, and five minutes on the phone saves a wasted trip. Say what the vehicle is doing: a noise, a pull, a vibration, a warning light, or simply a service that is due.

Bring the vehicle and, if you have it, a note of what was done last time and when. For tires, the size is on the sidewall and is worth reading off before you call, since it is the first thing the store will ask for.

Expect the store to tell you what it finds rather than what it would like to sell. A tire shop that replaces parts nobody needed does not keep commercial fleets for 90 years.

Hours and booking

Most Purcell locations open Monday to Friday and close at weekends. Two open on a Saturday: Pahrump, NV from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the retread plant in Portland, OR. Opening times vary by store, and each location page carries its own.

Call the store directly, or send a service request and it will reach the right location.

Current offers

Current tire and service offers are listed on the tire offers and service offers pages. Offers vary by location, so check with the store before you come in.

Questions

Questions from drivers

Does Purcell work on regular cars, or only trucks?

Both. Thirty-three Purcell locations across ten states do car and light truck work, including brakes, alignment, oil changes, A/C, cooling system and engine repair. Two of those are consumer-only stores, in Idaho Falls, ID and Paducah, KY.

My steering wheel shakes at highway speed. What is that?

Most often it is tire balance. Tire and wheel balancing is offered at 51 Purcell locations and is usually a short job. If balancing does not settle it, the store will look at the tires themselves and at the suspension.

Where can I get a state inspection?

At ten Purcell locations, in Missouri and Utah only. They are named above, each linking to the store that performs them.

Is Purcell open on Saturdays?

Two locations are: Pahrump, NV from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the retread plant in Portland, OR. Everywhere else runs Monday to Friday. Check the location page for that store's hours.

Can I get tires for a trailer or a side-by-side?

Yes. Trailer tires are carried at 56 locations and UTV and ATV tires at 57. Call with the size from the sidewall.
