Know which fixes can happen here
Requirements for an inspection are set by the State of Utah and change from time to time. Confirm the current requirement for your vehicle when you book, or with the state directly. Ogden performs the inspection to whatever the state requires at the time.
What is worth knowing before you arrive is how this particular store fits if something fails, because Ogden's service list is narrower than most stores that inspect.
Can be put right here. Tires, including tread and damage. Alignment. Suspension components. Wheels, through wheel refurbishing. Balancing.
Needs a different Purcell store. Brakes, engine faults and warning lights tied to the engine. Ogden does not offer brake repair or engine repair. Those are at Orem and the Salt Lake City commercial and consumer store, both of which also inspect.
That is the practical point. If you already suspect a brake or engine problem, it can make sense to have it fixed at one of those stores first, or to inspect there, so the correction and the inspection happen in one place.
Check the easy things at home
Lights, including the brake lights and the plate light. Wipers and washer fluid. Tires, for tread and visible damage. Horn and mirrors. Any warning light on the dash. These account for a large share of avoidable failures, and every one can be checked in a driveway.
The 5:30 PM close
Ogden stays open later than the other two Utah inspection locations, which makes a late afternoon visit possible after a working day. Allow more time than the inspection itself takes, since the store is doing other work alongside it.
The national state inspections page covers what happens on the day and what to do if a vehicle fails.
Other inspection stores nearby
The Salt Lake City commercial and consumer store and Orem are the other two Utah locations performing inspections.
