Put every due date on one calendar
Most fleet tire problems are not surprises. They are dates nobody wrote down. An inspection that lapsed, an alignment that was due two months ago, a trailer that has not had its wheels looked at since it was bought.
Ogden is in an unusual position for a Utah fleet store because it handles several recurring jobs at one address: state inspections for the vehicles that need them, alignment on trucks, trailers and light vehicles, and mobile service at your yard. That makes it practical to keep one calendar for all of them instead of several.
A useful fleet calendar has three columns per unit:
- What is due: inspection, alignment check, tire rotation or replacement, wheel inspection.
- When: by date for anything the state sets, by miles or hours for anything wear sets.
- Where: in the shop, or at your yard on the next mobile visit.
Grouping by the third column is where the savings show. Several units due for tire work in the same month can be done in one mobile visit. Units due for alignment and inspection in the same month can come in together.
The 5:30 PM close
Ogden stays open later than any other Purcell store in Utah. For a fleet, that last stretch of the afternoon is often when a unit finishes its run and can be dropped off without losing a working day.
What gets agreed
Specifications by position and vehicle type, terms and authorization settled once, which also speeds up a roadside call, and records by unit so cost per vehicle exists as a figure.
Brake, engine and oil work are not offered at Ogden. Those sit at Orem and the Salt Lake City commercial and consumer store.
What to bring
The unit list with sizes and positions, any inspection due dates you hold, and what has been failing. Who authorizes work, and how you want it billed.
Other stores nearby
Tremonton runs fleet accounts to the north, and the Salt Lake City Truck Tire Center to the south.
