About the brand
Uniroyal is a long-standing American tire name, and in North America it is part of the Michelin group. It sits in the part of the market where drivers are weighing price against the things that matter day to day: wet grip, tread life and a quiet ride.
The value question, honestly
Most people buying tires are not choosing between the top of the range and this one. They are choosing between a tire that costs a certain amount now and one that costs more now and may or may not cost less per mile over its life.
That calculation depends on how many miles you actually drive. On a car covering 6,000 miles a year, a tire will often age out before it wears out, and paying for tread life you will never use is money spent on nothing. On a car covering 25,000 miles a year, the same purchase looks completely different.
Tell the store the annual mileage and where you drive. It is the single most useful thing you can say, and it changes the recommendation more than brand preference does.
