Two roadside stores on I-10, one manager
Tucson and Willcox both run 24-hour roadside assistance, both sit on I-10, and both are managed by Mark Laster. For a fleet running that stretch of southern Arizona, that combination is worth using deliberately rather than discovering at night.
The practical consequence is that a fleet does not need two separate arrangements. Authorization, billing, tire specifications and the person to call when something is unusual can be agreed once and apply to whichever store is nearer to the unit that stopped. A driver east of Tucson and a driver in the city are then working from the same set of answers.
Set that up in a quiet week:
- Which store covers which stretch. Decide where the line falls on your routes so dispatch does not debate it with a driver waiting.
- One authorization. The same limits and approvals at both stores.
- Your common sizes. Tell both stores what your units run, so the right tire is on the truck that comes out.
What is covered
Commercial units: tractors, trailers, straight trucks and equipment. A unit recovered to Tucson comes back to a store with seventeen services, so a failure caused by something else, a dragging brake or a worn heavy-duty truck alignment, can be dealt with properly.
Authorization is settled in advance on a fleet account. Tucson does not offer mobile service; for planned work at a yard, ask the Phoenix commercial and consumer store.
Other roadside stores nearby
Willcox to the east and Casa Grande to the northwest also run roadside assistance.
