On an empty road, know where you are before you need to
Most location advice assumes landmarks. On long stretches of open highway there are very few, and a driver who stops somewhere featureless often genuinely cannot say where they are beyond the road number.
The fix costs nothing and it has to happen before the breakdown. Drivers who note the mile marker as they pass it, every so often, always have a position to give. Drivers who do not are reconstructing one from memory under stress, and the reconstruction is frequently wrong by a considerable distance.
That is the difference between a service vehicle driving to a location and a service vehicle searching a stretch of highway. On a road with exits far apart, getting it wrong is expensive in a way it is not in a city.
Mile marker and direction of travel. Those two things, taken together, are a complete answer.
The other thing to establish in advance
Which store is nearest. Fernley sits between Reno and the eastern part of the state, and a fleet running this corridor should know in advance which Purcell location is closest to each part of its route rather than working it out at night.
Nevada has five Purcell listings. Two of them, Fernley and Reno, are on this corridor.
What is covered
Commercial units: tractors, trailers, straight trucks and equipment. Fernley carries all nine Purcell tire categories and runs sixteen services, including the full vehicle repair list, so a unit recovered here can be dealt with properly rather than only returned to the road.
The national roadside assistance page lists what any call needs. Authorization is settled in advance on a fleet account.
About this store
The Fernley store is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, managed by John Jangula.
