Decide before dark which calls can wait for morning
The Reno store closes at 4:30 PM. Between then and 8:00 AM the next day, every tire problem on a commercial unit becomes one of two things: a roadside call tonight, or a shop visit at opening. Most fleets make that choice on the spot, at night, through whoever happens to be on dispatch.
A short written rule does it better, and it only needs three cases.
Call now. A unit stopped on the road or the shoulder, a tire that has failed outright, or anything that leaves a driver unsafe where they are. No waiting.
Call now if the load cannot wait. A slow leak on a parked unit that has to leave before 8:00 AM. The tire is not the emergency; the schedule is.
Wait for opening. A slow leak on a unit that is parked in the yard and not due out until mid-morning. Bring it in at 8:00 AM and it is dealt with in the shop rather than by flashlight.
Writing the rule down once means a new dispatcher makes the same decision an experienced one would, and nobody pays for a night call that could have been a morning booking.
What is covered
Commercial units: tractors, trailers, straight trucks and equipment. A unit recovered here comes back to a store with eighteen services, so a failure that started somewhere else, a dragging brake or a worn heavy-duty alignment, can be found and fixed rather than only patched.
Authorization is settled in advance on a fleet account. Planned tire work at your yard is mobile service, a different arrangement.
Nearest other roadside stores
Fernley is the closest, east on I-80. In the south of the state, North Las Vegas also runs roadside assistance.
