Heat changes what a stopped vehicle means
In summer here a unit stopped on a shoulder is a driver standing in temperatures that are genuinely dangerous, and that outranks the tire.
Say so when you call if it applies. A driver with no shade, no water and a cab they cannot run the air conditioning in is a different situation from one who is comfortable and waiting, and the store cannot know which unless somebody says.
What fleets can do about it in advance is unglamorous and it works. Water in every cab, enough for hours rather than a bottle. Something that provides shade. A charged phone rather than one at eight percent. Then a standing instruction that if a driver is in trouble they say so first and worry about the load afterwards.
The tire conversation can wait a few seconds. That one cannot.
The other heat problem
Heat is also why the tire failed, more often than not.
Air pressure rises with temperature, and a tire already over-inflated in a cool morning yard is higher again on hot pavement in the afternoon. More commonly, a tire that was under-inflated is running far hotter than it should and the ambient temperature finishes the job.
Setting pressures cold, early, against the specification is what reduces summer calls here. The national roadside assistance page lists what a call needs beyond that.
The early start
This store opens at 7:00 AM, earlier than any other Purcell location in Nevada. A unit recovered overnight can be dealt with at the start of a day rather than mid-morning, which on a distribution schedule is a useful hour.
What is covered
Commercial units: tractors, trailers, straight trucks and equipment. North Las Vegas carries all nine Purcell tire categories. Authorization is settled in advance on a fleet account.
About this store
The North Las Vegas store runs nine services, is open Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is managed by Brandon MacIntyre. It is also one of two Nevada locations offering mobile service.
See the national roadside assistance page for all 48 locations.
