A fleet that changes size with the season
Many fleets around Yuma are not the same size all year. Harvest brings extra trucks and trailers into service: leased units, borrowed units, owner-operators on contract, equipment that sat parked for months. Then the season ends and the fleet shrinks again.
That pattern is hard on tire programs, because most are set up for a fleet that stays put. The core units are on record and in good shape. The extra units arrive with unknown tires, unknown pressures and unknown history, and they are put to work at exactly the moment nobody has time to look at them.
Plan the surge before it arrives
Before the season. Tell the store roughly how many extra units to expect, what they are and when. The sizes they run can then be on hand rather than ordered after the first failure.
When each unit arrives. A quick inspection before it goes to work: tread depth, sidewall condition, pressures, and the age of the tires. A unit that has been parked for months is the one most likely to have a tire that looks fine and is not.
During the season. Roadside calls, repairs and replacements on the extra units go on the same account, with the unit identified, so the cost is recorded against the right truck or the right contract.
After it. A short review of what failed and where. That review is how next season's list gets better.
What gets agreed at setup
Specifications by position and unit type. Terms and authorization, which decide how quickly a roadside call moves. Records by unit. Seventeen services sit behind the account, including heavy-duty truck alignment, trailer alignment, OTR work and the full car and light truck list.
Mobile service is not offered from Yuma. In Arizona it runs from Phoenix.
