Vehicles that come home every night can be serviced on a schedule
A long-haul fleet has to catch its trucks wherever they happen to be. A local fleet has an advantage it often does not use: the vehicles come back to the same yard at the end of every day.
That makes tire and maintenance work predictable in a way it is not for anyone else. Instead of waiting for a van to develop a problem and losing it mid-route, the work can be planned around the route itself.
Use the quiet day. Most local operations have a lighter day in the week. Booking one or two vehicles into the shop on that day keeps work flowing without anyone missing a route.
Use the early start. The Owensboro store opens at 7:30 AM. A vehicle that does not leave until mid-morning can often have quick work done first.
Rotate through the fleet. One or two vehicles a week, in order, means every vehicle gets looked at on a cycle and nobody has to remember which one is overdue.
Keep a spare in the plan. If the fleet has a spare vehicle, the schedule can use it to cover a van while it is in the shop.
The result is a fleet where tire and brake problems are found during a planned visit rather than at a customer's door.
What the account sets up
The vehicles and their tire sizes, so the right tire is on hand. Who authorizes work and up to what amount. How you want it invoiced. A record by vehicle, so you can see which ones cost the most to run. Behind it, sixteen services, from brake repair and oil changes on vans and pickups to heavy-duty truck alignment and 24-hour roadside assistance for the bigger units.
What to bring
The vehicle list with sizes. Which days are lighter. What has been failing. Who authorizes work, and how you want it billed.
