Make every trip to the store carry more than one job
For a fleet based out in the county, the expensive part of tire and service work is often not the work. It is the trip: a driver and a unit off the job for the drive in, the wait, and the drive back. Do that separately for every tire, every alignment and every small repair, and the travel time adds up to more than the work itself.
The fix is planning, and a fleet account is where the planning lives.
Group the work by unit. When a truck is due for one thing, check what else is close: tires near replacement, an alignment that is overdue, a trailer that has been pulling. Book them together so the unit makes one trip instead of three.
Group the units by route. If two trucks run past Princeton on the same day, schedule both for that day.
Send the list ahead. A short note to the store before a visit, listing each unit and what it needs, means sizes are on hand and bay time is planned before anyone sets out. A unit that arrives to find its tires on order has made a wasted trip.
Settle approval in advance. Agree who can authorize work and up to what amount, so a job found during the visit can be done during the visit.
What sits behind the account
Sixteen services at one address, including heavy-duty truck alignment, trailer alignment, OTR services, retreading and the full car and light truck list, which means a farm pickup and a grain truck can be on one record. The store page explains how an account works around a farming calendar.
What to bring
The unit list with tire sizes by position, the routes or areas you cover, what has been failing, and who authorizes work.
Other stores nearby
Paducah Commercial & Consumer to the west and Henderson to the northeast also run fleet accounts.
