Cold on one side, warm on the other
Not every A/C complaint is about refrigerant. One common pattern has nothing to do with it: the driver's vents blow cold and the passenger's blow warm, or the air is cold on the face and warm at the feet, or the temperature drifts on its own after you have set it.
What usually sits behind that is a blend door. Inside the dashboard, small doors decide how much air passes over the cold part of the system and how much over the heater. Each one is moved by a small electric motor. When a motor fails or a door sticks, the system can be making perfectly cold air and still sending warm air out of one set of vents.
There is often a clue you can hear. With the engine running and the radio off, change the temperature setting from full cold to full hot. A clicking or tapping from behind the dash, sometimes continuing after you stop, points to a door motor that is struggling.
Make one trip do it
Princeton draws customers from a long way out, so it is worth arriving with the pattern already worked out. Before you come:
- Which vents are wrong. Driver, passenger, face, feet, or all of them.
- Whether it changes. Does it come and go, or stay the same all the time?
- Any sound from behind the dash when you change the temperature.
- When it started. After a battery change or other work, or out of nowhere.
Tell the store those when you book. If the vehicle is coming in for something else, mention the A/C at the same time rather than making a second trip.
What else is here
If the air is warm everywhere, the cause is more likely the refrigerant side, and the check covers that too. Cooling system work and scheduled maintenance are at this store. The national A/C service page covers what a check includes.

Paducah Commercial & Consumer and Paducah Consumer also offer A/C service.
