Tire & Wheel Balancing in Elko, NV

Purcell Tire & Service balances tires and wheels at 1825 Idaho St in Elko, for commercial units, equipment and site vehicles. Call (775) 738-2161.

The site vehicles nobody specifies

A mine or a quarry buys its haul truck tires carefully and its light vehicle tires by whoever answers the phone.

That is understandable, since the money is obviously in the large tires. It also means the vehicles people actually ride in all day, the UTVs and side-by-sides moving crews and supervisors around a site, get the least thought of anything on the property.

Elko carries UTV and ATV tires alongside the equipment categories, which puts those vehicles on the same account as the machines rather than on a separate errand.

Balancing matters on them more than people expect. A side-by-side covering site roads at speed with an out-of-balance assembly transmits that straight through a stiff chassis into the people in it, for a whole shift. It is a comfort item that is also a fatigue item, and it is cheap to address.

What is balanced here

Commercial truck assemblies, agricultural, OTR where applicable, and UTV and ATV. Elko carries five of the nine Purcell tire categories: agricultural, commercial, OTR, tracks and UTV/ATV.

Passenger, light truck, industrial and trailer tires are not stocked at this location. For those, Reno and Fernley carry all nine categories.

What balancing cannot fix

This store does not align. A vibration in a speed range that fades either side of it is balance; a pull, a wander or uneven wear across the face of a tire is alignment, and that is at Reno, Fernley, North Las Vegas or Pahrump.

The national tire and wheel balancing page covers the occasions worth asking for it.
