Saturday closes the weekend gap by half
Pahrump is one of only two Purcell locations in the country open on a Saturday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alongside the retread plant in Portland, Oregon.
For anyone running commercial vehicles here, that changes the shape of a weekend. A unit that develops a problem on Friday afternoon can be dealt with on Saturday morning rather than waiting until Monday, and that is the difference between losing a day and losing three.
What it does not do is cover Sunday. Which makes Saturday afternoon the decision point of the week: anything marginal that can be dealt with before 3:00 PM should be, because after that the next shop time is Monday morning.
Roadside assistance covers commercial units throughout, including Sunday. The distinction is between getting a unit moving, which happens any time, and getting it properly repaired, which needs the store open.
Use Saturday morning deliberately
The fleets that get the most from this treat Saturday as planned time rather than overflow.
A unit somebody has been watching all week, a tire that will probably not last another run, a machine that needs looking at without a crew waiting: those belong in a Saturday slot booked in advance. Saturdays fill, so the booking matters.
