Give the tire size before anything else
A roadside call is only as quick as the first trip. A technician who arrives with the wrong tire has driven out to look at the problem, and the real fix starts when they drive back for the right one.
The information that prevents that is printed on the side of the failed tire, and it is often the hardest thing to get from a driver standing on a shoulder. The size may be on the side facing the road, it may be on a tire that has come apart, or it may be on an inner dual nobody can reach.
The fix is to have the sizes before the breakdown.
Keep a size sheet in every cab. One line per position: steer, drive, trailer. Five minutes to make once, and it means the driver reads a card instead of crawling under a trailer.
Note mixed sizes. A trailer that came from somewhere else, or a unit that has had a different size fitted on one axle, is exactly the case where a guess goes wrong.
Say which position failed. Steer, drive or trailer, and on duals, inner or outer. Each tells the technician something about what to bring and what else to look at.
With the size, the position and where the unit is, the store can load the right tire before the truck leaves.
What is covered
Commercial units: tractors, trailers, straight trucks and equipment. Tremonton carries all nine Purcell tire categories, which matters on a call involving a farm trailer or a piece of equipment rather than a highway tractor.
Authorization is settled in advance on a fleet account. A unit that keeps losing the same position may be telling you about its alignment, which is also done here.

Ogden is the nearest other Purcell store running roadside assistance, and the Salt Lake City Truck Tire Center runs it further south.
