Three kinds of work, one account
Monroe runs seventeen services, more than any other Purcell location in Washington, and the fleet account is where that breadth becomes useful rather than merely long.
The trucks. Tires, heavy-duty truck alignment, trailer alignment, retreading and 24-hour roadside assistance.
The light vehicles. Brakes, oil changes, cooling system, A/C, engine repair, suspension, alignment and scheduled maintenance.
The equipment. OTR services, wheel refurbishing and mining fleet services, the only mining program in Washington.
Most operations that run all three deal with three suppliers and hold no complete picture of any of them.
The number nobody has
Ask a fleet what its vehicles cost to keep running and you usually get the tire spend, because tires come with invoices that are easy to add up.
What is missing is downtime, which is larger and is spread across departments where nobody adds it up. A vehicle taken out of service twice for work that could have been done once has paid for the second visit in lost use. A unit that fails on the road costs considerably more than the same work scheduled.
An account exists to move work from the second column to the first, and the records are what let you see whether it worked.
What gets agreed
Specifications by position and vehicle type. A maintenance schedule matched to how your vehicles are used rather than to an average. Terms and authorization settled once. Reporting, so cost per unit exists as a figure.
Across the state
What to bring
The unit list by type with sizes and positions, equipment and light vehicles included. Where and how the vehicles work. What has been failing. Who authorizes work, and how you want it billed and reported.
