24-Hour Roadside Assistance in Albuquerque, NM

Purcell Tire & Service runs commercial roadside assistance from 1400 Mission Avenue N.E. in Albuquerque, around the clock, for trucks, trailers and equipment. Call (505) 884-1957.

One store, a lot of ground

Albuquerque is Purcell's only location in New Mexico, which shapes what roadside coverage means here more than anything else on this page.

There is no second branch twenty minutes away. A unit stopped on a shoulder is waiting on this store, and the distance between the truck and the store is the single biggest factor in how long that wait is. That is worth knowing before the breakdown rather than during it, because it is the thing you can plan around.

What you can plan around: where your units run, which sizes they run, and whether the store knows both before a call comes in. A fleet whose specifications are already on file is a different call from a stranger reading a sidewall over a bad connection.

What the store covers

This is a commercial location. The roadside work is for trucks, trailers, agricultural equipment, OTR machines, industrial units and anything running the tire categories the store carries: agricultural, commercial, industrial, OTR, tracks, trailer, and UTV and ATV.

Passenger and light truck tires are not stocked here, and no other Purcell location in New Mexico stocks them either. A car on the side of the road is not a call this store can answer.

What to have ready when you call

The information that shortens the call, in the order it gets asked for:

  1. Where the unit is. A mile marker and a direction of travel, not a town name.
  2. What it is. Tractor, trailer, loader, tractor-trailer combination, and whether it is loaded.
  3. The tire size and position, read off the sidewall if anyone can get to it safely.
  4. What happened. A blowout, a flat found at a stop, and a wheel problem are three different trucks to arrive for.
  5. Who authorizes the work, and how it gets billed.

The fifth one holds up more calls at night than the first four combined. Settle it once on a fleet account and it stops being a question.

The call that prevents the call

Most roadside calls were visible days earlier. A tire running low that nobody topped up, a repair deferred, a casing with a cut in it that went out on another run.

For equipment especially, the inspection that costs nothing at the yard is the one that decides whether a machine stops at the face. See OTR services for the scheduled side of the same work.

Questions

Roadside questions, Albuquerque

Is the service really 24 hours?

Yes, for commercial units. The store itself is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM; roadside covers the rest.

Can you come out to a car?

No. This is a commercial location and carries no passenger or light truck tires. New Mexico has no other Purcell listing.

How far will you travel?

Ask the store, with the route your units run. Albuquerque is the only Purcell location in the state, so the answer depends on where you are rather than on a fixed radius.

Do I need an account first?

No. An account settles authorization and billing in advance, which is the part that slows a night call down.
