The store closes at 4:30, and the service does not
Hot Springs runs Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, which is half an hour earlier than the other three Purcell stores in Arkansas.
For a fleet that is worth planning around rather than discovering. A unit that develops a problem during the afternoon is better brought in at three than at four thirty, and a decision taken at four about whether something will last until morning is a decision worth taking carefully.
What does not change is the roadside cover. A unit that stops at six in the evening or two in the morning is the same call either way, on the same number.
The practical habit is to use the last hour of the working day for the units you are unsure about. A tire somebody is watching is a tire that can be dealt with in the shop; the same tire at midnight is a different job in a worse place.
What is covered
Commercial units: trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles and off-highway equipment. Hot Springs carries all nine Purcell tire categories, which is unusual for a commercial store and useful when the unit that stopped is a machine.
What the store does not offer is general vehicle repair. Brakes, oil changes and engine work are at Mabelvale, Jonesboro and Springdale.
What to have ready
The national roadside assistance page lists what any call needs. Add whether the unit is somewhere it can safely wait, because that changes whether the answer is a service truck tonight or first thing when the store opens.
Authorization and billing are settled in advance on a fleet account, which is the step that most often holds a night call up.
Do not run it flat
A tire driven on with no air usually finishes the casing within a short distance, and casings collected here go to the Purcell plant in Potosi, Missouri. The casing is the expensive part. See retreading.
