A farm is a fleet, whatever it calls itself
Nobody running a farm thinks of themselves as operating a fleet, and most of them are.
Tractors, a combine, sprayers, implements, grain carts, a truck or two, trailers, and pickups. That is more rolling stock than plenty of trucking companies run, spread across more tire sizes, with a usage pattern that concentrates everything into a few weeks a year.
The reason it is rarely managed as a fleet is that the tires get bought as they are needed, from whoever has them when a machine stops. Which is a sensible response to an emergency and a poor way to run a year.
What an account changes
Availability becomes known. You tell the store which sizes you cannot do without; the store knows what it has and what has a lead time. That conversation is useless during a breakdown and valuable in February.
The work moves into the quiet months. Casings go for retreading when the machine can spare the tire. Marginal tires get replaced on your schedule. Alignment happens before the hauling season rather than after the tires are ruined.
Specifications get decided once, with the application in mind, rather than by what was on the shelf that day.
There is a record, which is what turns tire spend from a series of invoices into a number per machine.
The whole yard at one address
Twin Falls is a commercial and consumer store carrying all nine Purcell tire categories, including agricultural, OTR and tracks, and it runs fourteen services covering vehicle repair as well as tires.
It is also the only Purcell location in south central Idaho, which is the practical reason to have the relationship set up rather than improvised.
OTR fitting, change-outs and repairs are at Boise; this store supplies the tires. Wheel refurbishing is at Boise and Idaho Falls Commercial.
