Harvest does not reschedule
Most of the year a stopped vehicle is an inconvenience with a cost attached. During the weeks that matter on a farm, it is a different thing entirely, because the work it was doing cannot be moved to next week.
That changes what preparation is worth. A fleet that waits until something stops and then starts explaining what it runs is spending its window on a phone call. A fleet that told the store in advance which machines it has, which sizes it depends on, and when its pressure weeks fall, has already done that part.
Twin Falls is the only Purcell location in south central Idaho, which makes the conversation more useful here than in a city with three alternatives.
Before the season, not during it
Four things worth doing while machines are idle:
- Walk the tires on every machine and flag anything marginal. A tire that will not last the season is cheaper to deal with now.
- Check pressures properly, cold, rather than by eye. Under-inflation causes more failures than anything else.
- Tell the store your sizes, especially anything unusual, so availability is known rather than discovered.
- Settle authorization on a fleet account, so nobody is looking for a decision-maker at 9 PM.
What the store covers
Commercial units and equipment: trucks, trailers, tractors, implements and off-highway machines. Twin Falls carries all nine Purcell tire categories, including agricultural, OTR and tracks.
OTR fitting, change-outs and repairs are at Boise, the Idaho location offering OTR services. Twin Falls supplies the tires.
Do not run it flat
A tire driven on with no air usually ends the casing within a short distance, and on a large farm tire the casing is the expensive part. This store collects casings for the Boise plant. See retreading.
About this store
The Twin Falls store is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, managed by Stefanie Bluemel. Boise and Idaho Falls Commercial run the same service.
See the national roadside assistance page for all 48 locations.
